Working for life? Working for passion?

From kid to teenager and from teenager to young man. Time seems to pass so fast and it’s not slowing down. Most of my friends had matured. They are not those “playful” friends that i first met years ago. They are now more dependant, more career minded, more responsible, more ….. Well, i am happy for them from my heart but at the same time, i am worried about myself, my future. Seems that among all my friends, i am the one that are not advancing much.

I mentioned dependant, career minded, responsible earlier on, because i found myself to be lacking in these three attributes. I don’t think people will find derek dependant and responsible. Maybe it’s because now that i am living with my parents and i do not need to pay for the electricity bills or what. My mentaility seems to be kind of kiddy, i am not very career-minded. For me, i am those that prefer having a salary of $800 doing something that i like, to having a salary of $5000 doing something that i don’t like. I believe most people would probably chose the latter because they may need to pay for bills, support for family, living expense etc. And compare $5000 to $800, that’s 6+ times more. But, does’nt that defeats the purpose of working? Working for passion or working for living. Which one would you choose?

Working for passion, i believe that’s what everyone including me wanted. But i do realised that what you wanted doesn’t mean what you would get. How many of the people in the world actually gets the job that they wanted? I don’t know, but i believed not much.
