My plan down the road
As a webmaster, there are certain websites that i want to own. I will be enrolling in university in two years time and expenses will be high. My plan is to have a stable income of $2, 000 monthly from my network of websites within this 2 years. Everyone have a different view of success. May it’s graduating with a degree? Becoming a millionaire? Being a volunteer? Becoming a basketball player? My success is just to be able to live and survive with the ideas in my head. It’s okay if i am not rich or i am not a millionaire. I just want to continue doing things that i like. I like the experience more than results.
Below is my plan down the road. It may change along this years. But currently, this is the road i planned for myself.
A Social Content Community
Project started: Mid 2008
I have been working on this project to create a community since mid 2008. I love the feeling of being an administrator and having the power to build up something unique with a group of people. The feeling is like going to war with your comrades, fighting for victory. This community will be the starting point and will play an important part to the success of my other websites. This website is projected not to earn money, but for preparation. After establishing a strong and big user memberbase, i will then advance to my next projects, which will then play their part of generating revenue.
A Informative Portal
Project started: expected to be started at mid 2009
I have this idea in my head for long and i wanted to realise that idea. This portal is about gathering information. The type of information will not be known. Currently, i have all the resources and skills needed but i am not going to work on it till my community is established.
A Webmaster marketplace
Project started: expected to be started at beginning 2011
A marketplace targetted at web developers/ designers/ webmaster. Purpose is to create a platform to sell things such as websites. I am always looking for places to sell things, so why not created it myself. It’s very similar to sitepoint.com, just another option for people to sell digital stuffs.
A Niche (Secret) Auction Site
Project started: expected to be started at beginning 2013
A auction website which it’s main income stream will be from listings. I found a good niche but i won’t be sharing because i do not want competitors. In order to complete this project, i need to upgrade myself alot. My current programming level will not be able to do so. I guess i need to gather some partners with different skills also.
T shirt Ecommerce
Project started: expected to be started at beginning 2017
This ecommerce will not be started if the previous projects failed. Mainly is because of high expenses. This idea is abandoned 2 years ago because of lack of knowledge, skills, money, teamwork. But i am not going to give up on this ecommerce, the problem why it’s abandoned is that we are not prepared for it. We are not ready yet. I saw the potential of this ecommerce business. This might not be a good earner because the t shirt commerce industry is saturated, but i think there won’t be a problem earning 500 bucks more per month.
Webhosting / Design
This project might not get started because the market is too too too saturated. Might be only for a specific niche. Required a good team as well. There’s 90% that it won’t get started. Too many competitiors, high expenses.
By the time all projects i started, i might be already 28 years old or even older.
