How much is my blog worth? This question might pop out from your head after blogging for several months. There are a number of factors that affects the value of your blog. The below sections is how i value a blog on the perspective of a buyer.

Revenue Generated
If your blog generates a stable monthly revenue of $300, buyers are willing to pay a 10x price of that $300. There are also other factors that a buyer consider when giving a quote, but normally, 70% of the buyer’s decision to buy a blog relies on the revenue generated.

Quality of Traffic
This is the most important factor that i look into when buying websites. Please bear in mind that buyers are always looking for “quality targeted traffic”. For example, if you have a health related blog, your visitors consist of mainly people looking for myspace resources. That is not targeted traffic! You might as well changed your blog niche to myspace.

Referrers Statistic
Normally, you could get a higher quote if your blog’s traffic is mainly organic. Reason of this is due to the fact that your traffic does not relies on other external sites. Think of it,  If your blog’s traffic is mainly referred from a high traffic site and if that high traffic site removed your advertisement/link, won’t that crippled your blog’s traffic?

Please note that some (but not all) buyers might also consider the countries statistic of the blog. Like, where your visitors are from? Singapore? United States? India?

Google Pagerank
A google pagerank also plays an important part in determining the blog’s worth. Well, this is how google determines the quality of a website. The higher the quality, the higher the pagerank. Normally, websites with a higher pagerank will have higher SERPs in search engines. Despite of just this, buyers might also be interested in selling textlinks in the blog, therefore PR affects the worth of textlinks as well.

Alexa Ranking
I won’t consider this when buying websites as alexa ranking can be easily faked. Just advertise in those autosurf program and you will find your blog’s alexa ranking improving. But however, you can use it as a guide. For example, if you are interested in buying a blog that claims that have 1000 uniques from united states daily and it only have a alexa ranking of 10 million, you know something is going wrong.

Number of Blog Post / Blog comments
The more content your blog has, the more valuable it is. But make sure your blog post is of quality and is unique. Who wants duplicate content? Also, if you were selling blog posts in your blog, better not do so. Reviews are okay, not definitely not paid blogpost. Google don’t like duplicate content and you will only get your blog penalized from their search engines. Blog comments defines the degree of participation in your blog.

Technorati Ranking
There are millions of blogs in the world and technorati tells you where your blog stands among the million of blogs. As a buyer, i would be more interested in buying blogs with a higher authority.

So, find out and estimate the worth of your blog now.
